The Parks' Double Guard™ valve does not need electricity to operate. However, the ejector pump which pumps the home or buildings used water past the Parks' Double Guard valve does. Therefore, an insulated electrical line is installed underground from the home or building to the flood control to provide the ejector pump with electricity. Usually the power source begins in the garage or in the basement. In the underground vault, a weather resistant power outlet box is installed and the ejector pump cord is plugged into this outlet.
Inside the house (or the garage), we install a power indicator to inform homeowners of outside electrical problems.
If there is a need for it, a Parks' SumPro battery back-up system can be installed. The battery back-up allows the ejector pump to work during a power outage.
